International Women’s Day is a wonderful time to teach little ones (ages 2-5) about kindness and appreciation for the special women in their lives, but rather than just talking about it, why not turn kindness into a game? That’s why we created Women’s DayTic-Tac-Toe—a fun and interactive way for young children to celebrate this special day through simple, thoughtful actions.
How to Play: Kindness Tic-Tac-Toe for Toddlers & Preschoolers
This toddler-friendly twist on Tic-Tac-Toe replaces Xs and Os with kind actions. Instead of marking a square, kids complete a small act of kindness to claim their spot.
✨ Example Kindness Actions: 🤗 Give a big hug to a woman you love 🎨 Draw a picture for a special woman 📖 Read a book about an inspiring woman 👐 Make a special high-five for a woman helper 💬 Tell a woman something you love about her
Easy Steps for Parents
✅ Print the Kindness Tic-Tac-Toe Shareable (available in color & black & white) ✅ Take turns completing kindness actions to fill in the squares ✅ First to get three in a row wins—but in the end, everyone wins with kindness!
💡 Toddler Tip: If your child is too young for the game, turn it into a Kindness Hunt! Read the squares out loud and help them complete the actions throughout the day.
Extend the Fun: Read About Inspiring Women!
Pair the game with a short, engaging book about strong women to make the experience even more meaningful. Here are a few great picks for young children:
📖 “Rosie Revere, Engineer” by Andrea Beaty – A fun story about creativity and perseverance.
📖 “I Am Enough” by Grace Byers – A beautiful book about self-confidence and kindness.
📖 “She Persisted” Series by Chelsea Clinton – A simple introduction to trailblazing women in history.
Celebrate with Play!
International Women’s Day is about inspiring the next generation to be kind, strong, and appreciative of the incredible women in our lives. With Kindness Tic-Tac-Toe, little ones can celebrate through fun, meaningful actions that show love, appreciation, and gratitude.
